Shinjuku Metropolitan Building
It had been years since I last visited the Shinjuku Metropolitan Building. Which, is not surprising given the current state of the world. That being said, I forgot the current state of the world, lost in the present beauty of it all. Here the myth touches the modern world. It moves with each breath a person draws. It sits comfortably next to the modern.
Grounding the city as it reaches towards the sky. The seasons dictate the mood, as always. Alleyways lead to the past and main roads fade into the future. The present is lost in the confusion of all things. Yet, the symphony of souls, that lingers in this city. Is all that holds one here.
On this day I visited the new in this old city, the skyscrapers. while they have been here for years, carving out space in the endless blue of the sky. They are still younger than the older temples and even older trees. Whos height they rival if only due to human interference.
Shinjuku holds many businesses in this busy city. Yet darted about the base of this impressive building there are sculptures.
Pieces of the human soul given shape and form, created to draw questions and inspire.
